SEO Basics That Actually Move the Needle
SEO advice is mostly written for sites with a marketing team. For a small site, the list of things that genuinely matter is short.
The short list
- One clear topic per page. A page about three things ranks for none of them.
- Page titles that read like a human wrote them. This is the line people see in the results and decide to click.
- Words your customers actually use. Not your industry's internal vocabulary.
- Speed on a phone. Still one of the few technical factors worth caring about.
- Being findable locally, if you have a location.
Not worth your time yet
Keyword density, buying links, and rewriting the same page every fortnight. None of it beats publishing one genuinely useful page.
Measure it properly
Connect Google Search Console and look at which searches you appear for and which pages are indexed. Then wait. SEO on a new site works on a timescale of months — judging it after two weeks tells you nothing except that two weeks have passed.
Volnyn connects to Search Console from inside the dashboard, so search performance sits next to your visitor analytics. Start free at volnyn.com.
