Project comments

Collect feedback on your site with a shareable review link — clients and teammates leave comments without a Volnyn account.

Preview comments let you share a live review page for a site. Reviewers see the published site (when available) beside a feedback panel, leave notes, and you manage everything from the Comments inbox in the dashboard.

This is Volnyn’s guest-feedback flow. It is not element-pin commenting inside the builder preview. Reviewers write free-form feedback; you mark items done or delete them when you’re finished.

  1. Open your site in the dashboard.
  2. Go to Comments in the site sidebar (/user/site/comments), under Collaboration.
  3. Click Create share link.

Volnyn generates a private URL like /review/{token}. Copy it and send it to a client or teammate.

Anyone with the link can:

  • View the published site in the review frame (if the site has a live URL)
  • Leave feedback with their name (email optional)
  • See other comments already left on that link

No Volnyn account is required for reviewers. The token in the URL is the credential.

Rotate or disable the link when the review is over. Anyone who still has an old link loses access after you create a new one or disable sharing.

Leaving feedback (reviewers)

On the public review page:

  1. Open the share link you received.
  2. Browse the site in the main frame (or leave feedback even if the site isn’t published yet).
  3. Fill in Your name, optionally Email, and Feedback.
  4. Click Send feedback.

Comments appear in the side panel for other reviewers on the same link, and in the owner’s Feedback inbox.

Managing feedback (site owner)

Open Comments (/user/site/comments) to see everything reviewers have sent.

For each comment you can:

Action What it does
Mark done Marks the thread as resolved (shown as Done, visually dimmed)
Delete Removes the comment permanently

Open comments are counted in the page header so you can see how much is still outstanding.

Each row shows the author’s name, when they wrote it, optional email, optional page path, and the feedback body.

While a link is active:

  • Copy — copy the URL to the clipboard
  • Open — open the review page yourself
  • New link — rotate the token; the previous URL stops working
  • Disable link — clear the token; review URLs return 404 until you create a link again

Disabling or rotating never deletes existing comments in your inbox. It only stops new access via that URL.

What reviewers see

The review page is a split layout:

  • Left / main: an iframe of the site’s published or custom-domain URL when available
  • Right / side: feedback list + the form to send a new comment

If the site hasn’t been published yet, the frame explains that, and reviewers can still leave feedback.

The page is marked noindex so search engines should not index private review links.

Acting on feedback in Volnyn

Use comments as a punch list:

  1. Read open items in the Feedback inbox.
  2. Change the site in the AI builder / chat based on the notes.
  3. Mark done when addressed, or Delete noise.
  4. Optionally New link or Disable link when the review round ends.

Sending a comment does not automatically message the AI assistant. Paste or summarize feedback in chat yourself when you want the AI to implement changes.

Limits and privacy

  • The share token is the access control — treat the link like a password.
  • Reviewers can see other comments posted on the same share link.
  • Owners can delete comments; deleted comments are gone from the inbox.
  • Feedback body is capped (a few thousand characters); name and email have normal length limits.
  • Rotate the link if it was shared too widely or a review round is finished.

FAQ

Who can leave comments?
Anyone with the active share link. They do not need a Volnyn account. Site owners manage the inbox from the dashboard.

Can reviewers comment without the site being published?
Yes. They can still send feedback; the preview frame notes that the site isn’t published yet.

Do comments use AI credits?
Leaving or managing comments does not use AI credits. Asking the assistant to implement feedback in chat uses credits like any other chat message.

What happens if I disable the link?
Review URLs stop working. Existing comments stay in your inbox until you delete them.

Can I get a new link without losing feedback?
Yes. New link rotates the token. Old links break; comments already collected remain.

Is this the same as pinning comments on page elements?
No. Volnyn’s current Comments feature is share-link guest feedback and an owner inbox — not element-anchored pins in the builder.
