Site analytics and sales

See how your site is doing in one place: visitor analytics, a sales overview across orders, bookings, courses, and donations, every payment you've received, customer receipts, and your own plan payment history.

Once your site is live, two questions matter most: are people visiting, and are they buying? The site dashboard answers both. Analytics covers visitors and behavior. Sales covers money — from the shop, room bookings, course enrolments, and donations — in one combined view.

AI-built sites also have Orders (/user/site/orders), Users (/user/site/users), and Form Submissions (/user/site/submissions) in the sidebar — see AI-built sites below.

Site home

Home (/user/site/home) is the first page you see for a site. It shows:

  • Key stats — click Customize your key stats to choose the numbers you want on your dashboard. Click Refresh for the latest figures.
  • Activity feed — your most recent updates, such as new orders, posts, and subscribers.
  • Setup checklist — steps like connecting a domain and creating a business email. Click Continue Setup to finish them (also at /user/site/setup).
  • A shortcut to View Your Site Analytics.

Analytics

Volnyn has first-party visitor analytics built in — no setup needed. From /user/site/analytics you get highlights, realtime visitors, traffic sources, behavior, marketing, insights, benchmarks, reports, heatmaps, and Google Search Console.

You can also chat with your analytics: ask a question such as "Which pages got the most visits last week?" and get an answer from your recent stats.

The full guide lives in Project analytics. To add Google Analytics or PostHog as well, see Google Analytics. For blog-only stats, see the Blog analytics tab.

Sales Overview

Sales Overview (/user/site/sales/overview) shows your paid sales from every source together — shop orders, room bookings, course enrolments, and donations.

Pick a date range at the top: Last 7 days, Last 30 days (the default), Current week, Current month, or Last 90 days. Each figure is compared with the previous period of the same length.

Report What it shows
Total sales and Gross sales Money received in the period, with a daily chart.
Sales by source and category How much came from orders, bookings, courses, and donations.
Top selling items Your best-selling items by quantity.
Sales by billing location Where your paying customers are.
New vs returning customers How many buyers are new, and how many bought before.
Top paying customers Your biggest customers in the period.

Only paid sales count here. Unpaid and pending payments show on the Payments page.

Payments

Payments (/user/site/sales/payments) lists every payment across orders, bookings, courses, and donations in one table:

Column Meaning
Date When the payment was made.
Source Order, booking, course, or donation.
Reference The order, booking, or transaction number.
Customer Who paid.
Method The payment method used.
Amount How much.
Status Paid, Pending, or Rejected.

The cards at the top show Total received and what's Pending attention — payments that are unpaid or waiting for you to confirm, such as bank transfers. Search by reference, customer, or email, and click View to open the order, booking, enrolment, or donation.

If customers can't pay online yet, click Manage Payment Methods. See Payment gateways.

Receipts

Set up how receipts look before you send them to customers.

Receipt settings (/user/site/sales/receipts/settings):

  • Business info — your business name, address, email, and phone, taken from your business profile. Click Edit Business Info to change it.
  • Numbering — a Prefix and Suffix for receipt numbers, and the Next receipt number. Numbers go up by one with each receipt.
  • Header — a receipt title and extra header text.
  • Customer details — show or hide the customer's email, phone, company name, VAT ID, billing address, and shipping address.
  • Line items and tax — whether to show item descriptions, and how tax appears.
  • Footer notes — fixed text on every receipt, such as your returns policy.

Click Customize (Design, /user/site/sales/receipts/design) to change fonts, colors, dividers, and headline, and to upload your logo. Use Reset Template to start over.

The Receipts list (/user/site/sales/receipts) will show receipts once automated receipts are available.

Plan payment log

Payment log (/user/payment-log) is different from the sales pages above: it lists the payments you made to Volnyn for your plan, not your customers' payments. Search by transaction ID to find a specific one.

AI-built sites

AI-built sites collect their own data through the site and show it in the sidebar:

Page Address What it shows
Orders /user/site/orders Every order placed on the site — online and Cash on Delivery — with delivery details. Mark an order paid, completed, or cancelled.
Users /user/site/users People who signed up on the site.
Form Submissions /user/site/submissions Every form a visitor sent — contact, booking, inquiry, newsletter.

Sales Overview counts only paid orders. Cash on Delivery orders appear on Orders right away, and count as sales once you mark them paid.

Tips

  • Check Pending attention on the Payments page every day, so bank-transfer customers aren't left waiting.
  • Compare Current month with the previous period to spot trends early.
  • Set your receipt prefix before your first sale (for example INV-), so numbering stays consistent.
  • Mark Cash on Delivery orders as paid when the money arrives, so your sales figures stay accurate.

FAQ

Why is my sales total lower than my orders list? Sales Overview only counts paid sales. Pending, unpaid, and rejected payments aren't included.

Which currency are sales shown in? Your site's base currency from General Settings (/user/general-settings).

Is the analytics data the same as Google Analytics? No. Volnyn counts visits with its own tracking, and Google uses its own rules, so numbers differ a little. Use trends, not exact matches.

Where do I see what I paid for my Volnyn plan? In the Payment log (/user/payment-log), or under Usage & Billing in your account settings.
