Quote requests
Add a "Request a Quote" page to your site, design its form with the fields you need, and track every request from pending to completed.
If you price work case by case — renovations, catering, design, custom products — a quote form lets visitors tell you what they need. You build the form, visitors fill it in on your site, and each request lands in your dashboard where you reply and track it.
Quote requests are available on plans that include Request a Quote.
Where to find it
| Tool | Address |
|---|---|
| Visibility | /user/quote/visibility |
| Form Builder | /user/quote/form?language=en |
| All Quotes | /user/all/quotes |
| Pending / Processing / Completed / Rejected Quotes | /user/pending/quotes, /user/processing/quotes, /user/completed/quotes, /user/rejected/quotes |
Visitors see the form on your site at /quote — for example my-bakery.volnyn.com/quote. Add it to your navigation with the Menu Builder.
Turn the quote page on
- Open Visibility (
/user/quote/visibility). - Set Request a Quote Page Status to Active.
- Click Update.
Set it to Deactive to hide the page while you're fully booked.
Build the form
Every quote form already asks for the visitor's name and email. Add any other fields you need.
- Open Form Builder and pick the language.
- Under Create Input, choose a Field Type:
| Field type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Text Field | Short answers, such as a company name or budget. |
| Textarea | Longer descriptions of the job. |
| Select | One choice from a list, such as a service type. |
| Checkbox | Several choices from a list. |
| Datepicker | A date, such as the event date. |
| Timepicker | A time. |
| File | An attachment. Visitors can upload .zip files. |
- Set:
- Label Name — the question visitors see.
- Placeholder — example text inside the field.
- Required — Yes if visitors must fill it in.
- For Select and Checkbox, click Add Option for each choice.
- Click ADD FIELD.
The Input Fields list shows the form as visitors will see it. Drag fields to reorder them, click Edit to change one, or Delete to remove it.
Build the form in each language your site offers. Each language has its own set of fields.
If you turned on Google reCAPTCHA for your site, visitors must pass it before sending a quote. See Plugins.
Manage quote requests
New requests arrive as Pending. Move each one through the statuses as you work on it:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | New, not yet looked at. |
| Processing | You're preparing the quote. |
| Completed | Quote sent or job agreed. |
| Rejected | You're not taking the job. |
To work on requests:
- Open All Quotes, or one of the status lists.
- Change the Status from the dropdown on the request.
- Click View (Details) to read every answer and Download any attached file.
- Click Send Mail to email the visitor. Enter a subject and message, then click Send.
- Delete requests you no longer need, one at a time or several at once.
Sending a priced quote
A quote request is the visitor asking you. To send a client a priced quote they can accept online, use Getting Paid → Price Quotes (/user/site/payments/price-quotes). See Payment gateways.
Tips
- Keep the form short. Ask only what you need to give a price — you can follow up by email.
- Use Select instead of Text Field when answers fall into known options. It makes requests easier to compare.
- Mark the fields you really need as Required, and leave the rest optional.
- Check Pending daily. Fast replies win more jobs.
