Orders
Buy finished work — a logo, a website, a translation — from a service page, and follow it from payment to delivery. Sellers accept, deliver and get paid from Space.
An order is how a delivered-work service sells. The buyer picks a package, writes a brief and pays by card. The seller accepts, does the work, and delivers a file. When the buyer approves the delivery, the seller is paid into their wallet.
Appointment services sell bookings instead. Which one a listing uses is decided when the seller creates the service.
Where to find it
| Who | Where |
|---|---|
| Buyer | The service page (/services/{seller}/{service}) → Order now |
| Buyer | Space → Services → Bookings → You ordered, or the order page /services/client/order/details/{id} |
| Seller | Space → Services → Orders (/user/space?category=services) |
| Seller | The seller order list /services/seller/order/all and order page /services/seller/order/details/{id} |
| Both | The buyer–seller thread in Messages |
How a buyer orders
- Open a delivered-work service in the catalogue at
/services/all. - Pick a package — Basic, Standard or Premium. Use Compare packages to see them side by side. Each package shows its price, Delivery time and Revisions.
- Click Order now. (Signed out? The button reads Log in to order.)
- Under What do you need?, describe the work: what it is for, what it should include, links or examples, any deadline. At least 10 characters, up to 5,000.
- Check the summary: price, Service fee (if the marketplace charges one) and Total.
- Click Continue to pay. Stripe's secure checkout opens.
- Pay by card. You return to the service page with Order placed.
Your payment is held until you approve the delivery. You can send files to the seller in Messages after ordering.
Prefer to agree the brief first? Every service page has a Message button.
Ordering rules
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| One open order per service | If you already have an order in progress on a service, you are sent to that order instead of placing a second one. |
| A price is required | A service with no price cannot be ordered. Message the seller instead. |
| Not your own service | You cannot order your own listing. You see a link to your seller orders instead. |
| Card payments | Orders are paid by card through Stripe. If card payments are unavailable, ordering shows an error and nothing is charged. |
| Backing out | Leaving Stripe's checkout cancels the unpaid order. Nothing is charged. |
What happens after payment
As soon as Stripe confirms the payment:
- The order goes live in the marketplace with status New.
- The seller is notified — an in-app notification ("New order: …") and an email with the package, price, delivery time, your brief and an Open the order button.
- Your brief is posted in Messages — "Order placed and paid", with the package, price, delivery time and what you need, in the thread between you and the seller.
The seller then accepts the order to start work.
The order lifecycle
| Status | What it means | Who acts next |
|---|---|---|
| New | Paid, waiting for the seller. | Seller accepts or declines. |
| In progress | The seller accepted and is working on it. | Seller delivers (or cancels). |
| Delivered | The seller sent the work. | Buyer approves or asks for a revision. |
| Completed | The buyer approved the delivery. The seller has been paid. | — |
| Declined | The seller turned down a new order. The buyer is refunded. | — |
| Cancelled | The order was called off after it started. The buyer is refunded. | — |
The marketplace also uses Suspended and On hold for orders it has paused.
For sellers: handling orders in Space
Open Space, choose the Services filter, and stay on the Orders tab. Filter by All, New, In progress, Delivered, Completed or Cancelled (which also holds declined orders). Each row shows the buyer, the service and package, delivery time, price, You get (your share after commission) and status.
Accept
Click Accept on a New order. It moves to In progress, and the buyer is told you have started.
Have a question about the brief? Ask the buyer in Messages before you accept.
Decline or cancel
- Decline a New order you cannot take.
- Cancel order on one that is already In progress.
Either way you are asked to confirm, and the buyer's payment for a fixed-price order is returned to their wallet straight away. A declined or cancelled order is closed.
Deliver
- On an In progress order, click Deliver.
- Attach the finished file — up to 20 MB. Several files? Zip them. Images, PDFs, Office documents, text and CSV, ZIP/RAR, design files (PSD, AI, SVG), MP4/MOV video and MP3 audio are accepted.
- Add a Note for the buyer (up to 300 characters): what you delivered and anything they should check.
- Click Deliver.
The order moves to Delivered and the buyer is notified. Orders with milestones are delivered from the order page instead (Details).
Get paid
When the buyer approves your delivery, the order becomes Completed and the price less the platform commission is added to your wallet. The Earnings tab lists every completed order with its price, commission and what you got.
For buyers: receiving the work
- When the seller delivers, you are notified.
- Open the order — from Space → Services → Bookings → You ordered → Details, from the link in Messages, or at
/services/client/order/details/{id}. - Download the delivered file and read the seller's note.
- Approve the delivery to complete the order and release payment to the seller, or request a revision if your package still has revisions left.
- Once the order is complete you can leave a rating.
Money: price, fee and commission
| Amount | Who pays / who gets it |
|---|---|
| Package price | Paid by the buyer. |
| Service fee | Added on top for the buyer, if the marketplace charges one. Shown as a separate line at checkout. |
| Platform commission | Deducted from the seller's payout. |
| You get | Package price minus commission, paid to the seller's wallet on approval. |
The fee and commission rates are set by the marketplace administrator and can be different for individual sellers or seller subscriptions. The buyer always sees the exact total before paying, and the seller sees the exact payout on each order.
Tips
- Write a clear brief. The clearer the brief, the fewer revisions.
- Talk before you accept. Sellers: confirm scope in Messages first, then accept.
- Zip multi-file deliveries. One file per delivery; a ZIP keeps everything together.
- Watch New orders. The dashboard highlights the count; buyers are waiting on you to start.
FAQ
When is the seller paid? When the buyer approves the delivery. Until then the payment is held.
What if the seller declines my order? Your payment for a fixed-price order goes back to your Volnyn wallet. You can use that balance on the platform.
Can I place a second order for the same service? Not while one is still open. Finish or close the first one, or ask the seller for a custom offer in Messages.
Where does the seller's email go? To the email address on their account. It is titled "New order:" followed by the service name.
Can I pay from my wallet instead of by card? Orders placed from the service page are paid by card through Stripe.
What does "Waiting for approval" mean on my service? That is the listing, not an order — it has not been approved for the catalogue yet. See Selling services.
