Claw, your AI employee

Claw is an AI teammate that does the task instead of describing it. Message it from chat, Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord or email; it plans the work, uses your apps, and reports back when it is done.

Ordinary chat answers questions. Claw acts. Ask it to "summarize my unread emails and draft replies to the two from customers" and it reads your inbox, writes the drafts, and shows you each one before anything is sent.

Every message you give Claw becomes a task. It writes a short checklist, then works through it step by step — reading mail, searching the web, browsing sites, writing documents, posting to Slack — with live progress in the chat.

Open Claw in chat by choosing the Claw mode in the composer, or go to /user/chat?mode=claw. The empty screen asks What should Claw do?

Claw is part of the paid plans. Without one, tasks are refused with "The AI employee is part of the paid plans. Upgrade your plan to use it."

What Claw can do

Claw works with everything available to it on your account:

Claw can also split a big task and hand parts of it to helpers, then combine the results.

Giving Claw input

In the composer you can:

Type the task.
Record a voice note with the microphone. It is transcribed into the message box so you can check it before sending.
Upload a document — PDF, JPG, PNG, WEBP or HEIC, up to 20 MB. Claw reads its text and works from it.

Memory

Claw remembers durable facts you tell it — your role, your company, how you like things done — and brings them into future tasks. Tell it "remember that our invoices go out on the 1st" and it will.

Step 1: Connect Gmail and Slack

Claw's email and Slack tools use connections made from Claw settings.

Go to /user/claw?workspace=1.
Click Connect Gmail and approve Google's permission screen. Claw asks for permission to read, send and organise mail.
Click Connect Slack and pick your workspace.
In Slack, invite the Volnyn bot to each channel you want Claw to use: /invite @YourBot.

When Gmail is connected you will see: "Gmail connected! Claw can now read, send, reply to and tidy your email — every send is shown to you for confirmation first."

If Gmail shows read-only or Reconnect to enable sending & replies, click it and approve again — older connections did not include send permission.

Step 2: Give it a task

Type what you want done, in plain words:

"Find the three latest emails from Acme, summarize them, and draft a reply to the newest one."

"Post today's release notes to #announcements."

"Research the top five competitors for a dog-walking app in Karachi and put it in a document."

Claw shows Working on it… with its checklist and each step as it happens. When a step involves the browser, the live browser panel opens alongside the chat.

A task stops after a fixed number of steps or a few minutes of work. If it hits that limit, Claw tells you — "Stopping — reached the step limit for this task." — and you can continue by sending a follow-up.

Approving actions

Some actions cannot be undone, so Claw drafts them and waits for you.

These need your approval:

The card shows exactly what will be sent — recipient, subject and body — or which email will be moved. Nothing happens until you click. Trashed email is recoverable from Gmail; it is not permanently deleted.

After you decide you will see "Email sent to …", "Reply sent to …", "Email moved to Trash." or "Cancelled."

Good to know:

Slack messages are posted immediately, without an approval card. Be specific when you ask Claw to post.
Approvals happen in Volnyn — in web chat or the Volnyn mobile app. If you gave the task from Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord or email, open Volnyn to approve any drafted email.
A draft waits until you confirm or cancel it.

Message Claw from anywhere

You do not have to be in Volnyn to give Claw a task. Link a messaging app once and send tasks from your phone.

Find the channels in the Connect apps row under the Claw hero in chat. Each chip says Message Claw here until it is linked, then Connected.

Click the Telegram chip. Telegram opens a chat with the Volnyn bot.
Tap Start. The bot replies "✅ Connected! Send me any task…".
Send any task as text, a voice note, a photo or a PDF (the caption becomes the instruction). The bot replies "🔄 On it…" and then sends the result.

Click the WhatsApp chip. WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message, start followed by a link code.
Send it as-is. Your WhatsApp number is now linked to your account.
Send tasks as text, voice notes, images or documents.

If you message the number before linking, it replies "🔗 Link your account first: open volnyn → Claw → Connect."

Discord

Click the Discord chip.
Click Connect with Discord if shown, or run the link command displayed on the page in any server or DM where the Claw bot is present.
Send tasks with /claw message:<your task>. The bot replies "🔄 On it — I'll DM you the result." and sends the result by direct message.

Email (Mail Volnyn)

Claw can take tasks by email. Open Settings → Mail from the sidebar (or /user/claw/mail).

Setting	What it does
Inbox	Your Claw address. "Send emails to this address to create tasks." Use Edit address to change the part before the `@`.
Workflow email	Extra addresses, each with its own Custom instructions — "What should Volnyn do with mail sent here?" For example an Invoices address that files every invoice it receives.
Approved senders	"Only emails from these addresses can create tasks." Mail from anyone else is ignored. Add at least one — with none, nothing is processed.

Claw replies to the sender by email when the task is done. The page also lists recent mail with its outcome: Task created, Sender not approved, Failed or Ignored.

Home Assistant

Connect your smart home at /user/connectors/home_assistant/connect with your Home Assistant URL and a long-lived access token. Claw can then list devices, control them and run scenes.

Scheduled agents

The Claw settings page (/user/claw?workspace=1) also lists Recent tasks and Scheduled agents — Claw routines that run on a timetable.

Click New schedule.
Fill in a Title and the Instructions.
Tick the Enabled tools it may use.
Choose a Schedule: Manual only (Run Now), Once (run on save), Daily, Weekly, or Every N minutes, and enter the Schedule value.
Click Create agent.

Each scheduled agent has Run now, Pause / Resume and Archive.

For most recurring work, simply asking in chat is easier — "every Monday at 9, summarize last week's support emails" — and Claw creates an automation for you.

Credits

Each Claw task is charged a fixed number of credits, whether it comes from chat, the mobile app or a messaging channel. The tools it uses along the way — phone calls, image generation and so on — are charged as they normally are.

Tips

Say what "done" looks like. "…and send me the list as a table" beats "look into it".
Name the source. "From my Gmail", "in #sales", "on OLX" — Claw picks the right tool faster.
Read drafts before confirming. The approval card is your last chance to edit the plan; cancel and ask for changes if needed.
Lock down email. Keep Approved senders short. Anyone on that list can spend your credits.

FAQ

Is Claw different from the normal chat?

Yes. Normal chat answers and builds. Claw runs a task: it plans, uses your connected apps and tools, and keeps going until the job is done or it needs you.

Will Claw send emails without asking?

No. Every Gmail send, reply and move-to-Trash waits for you to click Confirm & send or Move to Trash.

Does Claw ask before posting to Slack?

No. Slack posts, replies and deletions happen immediately. Tell Claw exactly what to post, or ask it to show you the text first.

Claw says Gmail or Slack is not connected, but I connected it.

Connect them from Claw settings at /user/claw?workspace=1 using Connect Gmail and Connect Slack. Those are the connections Claw's email and Slack tools use.

Can I approve a draft from WhatsApp or Telegram?

Not yet. Open Volnyn on the web or in the mobile app to confirm drafted emails.

How do I unlink Telegram, WhatsApp or Discord?

There is no unlink button yet. Contact support if you need a messaging account removed from your Volnyn account.
