Chrome extension

The Volnyn AI Chrome extension puts the assistant in your browser's side panel and lets it work in your own Chrome — with your real logins — to read pages, click, type and fill forms for you.

The cloud browser is signed in to nothing. Your own Chrome is signed in to everything: your inbox, your store accounts, your social media. The Volnyn AI — Browser Agent extension lets Volnyn work there, on the tabs and accounts you already use.

It does two jobs:

1. A side panel assistant that acts on whatever page you are looking at.
2. "My Browser" mode for Volnyn chat, so tasks from the live browser, agents and Claw run in your Chrome instead of in the cloud.

Set it up at /user/extension — Connect the Volnyn Chrome Extension.

Requires Google Chrome 114 or newer on a desktop computer, and a plan that includes the live browser.

Install and connect

Step 1: Install

1. Open /user/extension in Chrome while signed in to Volnyn.
2. Click Add to Chrome. The Chrome Web Store opens.
3. Click Add to Chrome in the store and confirm.

Step 2: Connect

Go back to the /user/extension tab. It connects on its own: "Looking for the Volnyn extension…", then "Connected ✓ — taking you back to Volnyn…", and you land in chat.

If nothing happens within a few seconds, refresh the page.

Other ways to connect:

• From the side panel — click the toolbar icon, open Settings (⚙) and click Connect with Volnyn. If you are signed in at volnyn.com it links automatically; no token needed.
• Manually — on /user/extension, open Manual steps (only if auto-connect fails) and Copy your token. In the side panel's settings, click Enter a token manually, paste it into Extension token, and click Connect. You should see "Connected as {your name} ✓".

Store version out of date?

/user/extension has a fallback, Store version out of date? Install the latest build manually:

1. Click Download Extension (.zip) and unzip it.
2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
3. Click Load unpacked and pick the volnyn-ai-extension folder.
4. Refresh /user/extension to connect.

Using the side panel

Click the Volnyn icon in Chrome's toolbar to open the side panel, then tell it what to do on the current page:

"Summarize this article."

"Fill this form with my company details: …"

"Find the cheapest listing on this page and open it."

The assistant reads the page, then clicks, types, scrolls and navigates step by step. You see its thinking and each action in the panel.

If the agent meets a CAPTCHA it pauses by itself: "🔒 CAPTCHA detected — please solve it on the page yourself, then press Resume."

Using "My Browser" from Volnyn chat

Once the extension is connected, choose My Browser in the live browser panel — "Runs in your own Chrome, so your logins work." — or accept the assistant's card when it offers to use your Chrome for a site you are signed in to.

When a task starts:

1. Chrome opens a new tab in a green tab group named after the task.
2. The task tab shows a green glow, an AI cursor, and two pills: ← Back to Volnyn (switch to chat; the task keeps running) and Stop Volnyn (end the task and close the tab).
3. Chrome shows a banner saying the extension is debugging the tab. That is how the extension clicks and streams the screen; it goes away when the task ends.
4. The Volnyn chat panel shows progress, with Watch tab, Take over and Continue.

When the task finishes, the tab group's name gets a ✅ (or ⚠ if it stopped early).

The agent pauses for sign-ins, CAPTCHAs, payments and permission prompts — finish the step in the Chrome tab and click Continue in Volnyn. See Stepping in.

Chrome asks you to allow these when you install:

The extension only acts when you give it a task.

What is sent to Volnyn

While a task runs, the extension sends Volnyn what the assistant needs to decide the next step:

• The page address and title
• The visible buttons, links and fields, with their labels
• The readable text of the page (trimmed)
• In My Browser mode, screenshots of the task tab for the chat panel

Your conversation with the side panel is sent too, so the assistant has context. Avoid running tasks on pages showing information you do not want processed.

Limits

• The side panel's live search is limited to about 20 searches a minute. Past that: "Too many searches — wait a minute and try again."
• Each task has a step limit. For long jobs, break them into smaller requests.
• The extension requires a plan that includes the live browser.

Disconnecting

• Revoke access — on /user/extension, click Regenerate token. The old token stops working immediately, and the extension will show "Token rejected — reconnect in Settings."
• Remove it — open chrome://extensions and remove Volnyn AI — Browser Agent.
• Stop one task — Stop in the side panel, the Stop Volnyn pill on the page, or close the task's tab.

FAQ

Does the extension see my passwords?

It reads the page's visible labels and text so it can find buttons and fields. You sign in yourself; the assistant never asks for your password. For privacy, do not run tasks on a page while it shows sensitive data you do not want processed.

Do I need to keep Volnyn open?

For My Browser tasks, keep Chrome running. You can switch away from the task tab — ← Back to Volnyn — and it keeps working.

It says "Extension not detected".

Refresh /user/extension. If you installed from the .zip, make sure you used Load unpacked in chrome://extensions — downloading the zip alone does not install it.

It says "Token rejected".

Your token was regenerated. Open the side panel's Settings and click Connect with Volnyn, or paste the new token from /user/extension.

Does it work in Edge, Brave or Firefox?

It is built and published for Google Chrome.
