Payment gateways and getting paid

Choose how your customers pay you. Connect Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, and 15+ other gateways, add offline methods like bank transfer, and request payments with pay links, invoices, and price quotes.

The money your customers pay goes to your payment accounts, not to Volnyn. You connect your own Stripe, PayPal, or other gateway account, and your site's checkout uses it for shop orders, room bookings, course enrolments, and donations.

This page is about how your customers pay you. To pay for your own Volnyn plan, use Upgrade in your account menu.

Connect Stripe

Stripe is the quickest way to accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and more. Pay links need Stripe.

1. Open Getting Paid → Stripe Payment (/user/site/payments/stripe).
2. In your Stripe Dashboard, go to Developers → API keys and copy your Publishable Key and Secret Key.
3. Paste both keys into Volnyn.
4. Choose the Mode:
   • Test Mode — no real charges. Use it while you try things out.
   • Live Mode — real payments.
5. Set Payment Status to Active and click Save Changes.

Your secret key is stored encrypted and never shown to customers. Never share it publicly.

Online gateways

Open Manage Payment Methods (/user/gateways). Each gateway has its own card: turn its status on, paste the keys from your account with that provider, choose test or live mode where offered, and click Update.

Only turn on the gateways you've actually set up. Customers see every active gateway at checkout.

Shiprocket (shipping)

The same page has a Shiprocket card for shop shipping. Enter your Shiprocket API user email and password, pickup location name, and a default parcel weight.

Offline gateways

Offline gateways are for payments that happen outside your site — bank transfer, cash on delivery, mobile money, or cheque.

1. Open Offline gateways (/user/offline/gateways).
2. Click Add Gateway.
3. Enter:
   • Name — for example "Bank transfer."
   • Short Description — shown at checkout.
   • Instructions — how to pay, such as your bank details and what reference to use.
   • Receipt Image — turn on to make customers upload proof of payment.
   • Serial Number — the order it appears at checkout.
4. Click Submit, and set its Status to Active.

Orders paid offline arrive as pending. Check the receipt, then mark the payment as completed on the order, booking, enrolment, or donation.

AI Site Payments

AI-built sites have their own checkout. Open AI Site Payments (/user/site/payments/ai-sites) to connect the providers your AI site uses — Stripe, Razorpay, or PayPal. Each card shows whether the provider is ready. Paste your keys, click save, then use Test to check the keys work before customers try to pay.

Getting paid: invoices, pay links, and price quotes

These tools let you request money directly, without a shop or checkout.

Pay links

A pay link is a web page that takes one card payment — great for deposits, one-off services, or selling over chat.

1. Open Pay Links and click New Pay Link.
2. Enter what the payment is for (for example "Logo design — final payment"), an optional description, and the Amount.
3. Click Create Link and Copy the link to share anywhere.

Customers pay by card through Stripe, so connect Stripe first. You can Disable a link to stop payments, or Delete it — the URL stops working.

Invoices

1. Open Invoices and click New Invoice.
2. Choose a customer, or create a new contact.
3. Give the invoice a title, then Add Line Item for each product or service with quantity and price. Add taxes and a discount if needed.
4. Set the Issue Date and Due Date, and add notes and terms.
5. Save, then Send Invoice to email it.

The invoices list shows each invoice as Draft, Sent, Paid, Overdue, or Cancelled, with totals for what's outstanding. Mark as Paid when a customer pays another way. You can Export to CSV.

Add your business name, address, and logo with Edit Business Info so they appear on every invoice.

Price quotes

1. Open Price Quotes and click New Quote.
2. Choose the customer, add line items, taxes, and discounts, and set the Expiration date and Payment terms (such as Net + 30).
3. Use Preview & Share to check it, then Send it by email.

The customer opens the quote online and clicks Accept Quote. You're notified, and the quote shows as Accepted. Quotes can also be Declined, Expired, or Invoiced once you turn them into an invoice.

Tips

• Start in Test Mode, make a test purchase end to end, then switch to Live Mode.
• Offer at least one card gateway and one offline option. Some customers prefer bank transfer.
• Write clear offline instructions, including the exact reference customers should use.
• Use pay links for deposits — send the link in WhatsApp or email and get paid in minutes.

FAQ

Does Volnyn take a cut of my sales? Payments go straight to your own gateway account. Your gateway charges its own fees.

Which gateway should I use? Use the one that works in your country and your customers trust. Stripe and PayPal work in most countries; Razorpay, Paytm, and PhonePe suit India; Paystack and Flutterwave suit Africa; MyFatoorah and PayTabs suit the Gulf.

Why don't I see the Online gateways page? It's available on plans that include the shop, hotel booking, courses, or donations. Pay links, invoices, and price quotes are under Getting Paid.

A customer paid by bank transfer. What do I do? Open the order (or booking, enrolment, or donation), check the uploaded receipt, and change the payment status to completed.

Why can't customers pay my pay link? Pay links use Stripe. Connect Stripe under Stripe Payment and make sure it's Active.
